How to play Batak Trump Spades.
Number of Players: 4.
The game uses a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards. All Spades are trump cards.
In Swamp Trump Spades, only the Spade suit is considered trump.
The goal is to predict how many tricks you will take before the round begins and then try to win at least that many.
Starting to the right of the dealer, each player declares their predicted trick count, which is recorded on the scoreboard.
Gameplay:
If no card has been played to the trick, the next player leads any card. Otherwise, they must follow suit if possible.
If unable to follow suit, a player may play a trump card; otherwise, they may play any card.
Scoring:
After each round, scores are calculated based on the number of tricks a player committed to at the start versus the number they actually won.
If a player wins their committed number of tricks or more:
Score = 10 x Committed tricks + (Tricks won - Committed tricks).
If a player wins fewer tricks than committed:
Score = -10 x Committed tricks.
If a player declared zero tricks at the start of the round:
They score +50 points for winning zero tricks, or -50 points for winning any trick.
'Settling' refers to failing to meet your bid at the end of the game.
