Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update marks a significant refresh for the beloved title, available exclusively for mobile users.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

The update for Bully: Anniversary Edition introduces new languages and emphasizes stability improvements and bug fixes. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges, which will return in a future update.

For Android users with compatible devices, the update enables Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing visual quality. Additionally, the app icon has been updated, and haptic feedback has been added to improve the gaming experience on both iOS and Android.

Several mission-specific issues have been resolved. For instance, the mission 'That Bitch' no longer prevents players from picking Mandy’s locker, and 'Weed Killer' now progresses correctly even if you break the window prematurely. The infamous glitch where police cars fell through the floor during 'The Rumble' has also been fixed.

Previously, some players encountered enemies who wouldn't attack Jimmy, leading to unbalanced combat. The update addresses this issue, ensuring more engaging fights. It also fixes crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

Fans have been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but Rockstar's focus seems to have shifted. Although a sequel was reportedly in development during the 2010s, it was ultimately shelved in favor of projects like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.

With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially considering many original developers have moved on from Rockstar. While the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a welcome upgrade for mobile players.

For those new to the series, Bully is Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious 15-year-old navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy, complete with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.

So, if you're interested, check out Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store, available for €7.99 with full gamepad support.
