Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy's Precursor Basin: A Zoomer Driving Challenge Guide
Following Fire Canyon, Precursor Basin presents a seemingly less perilous, yet arguably more challenging, vehicle-based level in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. This guide will help you conquer its demanding objectives and collect every reward.
Herd the Moles
Begin by herding four blind moles back to their holes using the Zoomer. Use the Zoomer's hop for sharp turns to keep them in pursuit. Reward: A Power Cell from the Geologist in Rock Village.
Catch the Flying Lurkers
Chase and ram the Flying Lurkers in this area. Strategically cut them off at turns for easier captures. Reward: A Power Cell from the final Lurker.
Beat the Gorge Record Time (45 seconds)
This race near the Basin's entrance requires precision and speed. Utilize Lurkers for extra jumps, and collect Blue Eco for speed boosts. Avoid Dark Eco Crates. Master the sharp turns, particularly the 180-degree turn at the pit. A more risky, faster route involves using a Lurker for a higher jump to gain additional Blue Eco. Reward: A Power Cell from the Gambler. Beat 40 seconds for a Trophy.
Get the Power Cell Over the Lake
Starting from the slope (Image 1), navigate the narrow bridges and gaps using the Zoomer's hop. Time your jumps precisely across the islands (Images 2-5) to reach the final bridge and the Precursor Orb.
Cure the Dark Eco Infected Plants
Charge with Green Eco and drive through the purple plants to cure them before they regrow. Use hops for sharp turns and the Green Eco Vent to replenish your supply. Reward: A Power Cell.
Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings
This time-limited challenge requires quick reflexes. The key moments are navigating the aerial ring off the natural bridge and the final ring near a hole in the raised track. Reward: A Power Cell.
Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings
This is significantly harder than the purple rings. Master the tricky maneuvers around pillars, utilize the rocks for airborne rings over the lake (Image 1), and carefully navigate the narrow paths and aerial jumps (Images 2 & 3). Avoid accidentally triggering the Zoomer Trans-pad. Reward: A Power Cell.
Free the 7 Scout Flies
Locate all seven Scout Fly Boxes throughout the area (Image 1 shows the first). Some are easily accessible, while others require precise navigation and platforming skills. Reward: A Power Cell.
