Japanese Mahjong is an engaging game that follows the traditional rules of the Japanese style. To play, you use a slider on the screen to select tiles, and then tap to discard them. The goal is to complete your hand, which consists of four melds and one pair, like this example: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4].
However, some hands may not be valid if you use Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. Be cautious when using 1s and 9s in Chi and Pon, as they can affect the validity of your hand. In Japanese Mahjong, you need at least one valid hand to win, which can be achieved by paying 1,000 points to declare "Reach." Note that you cannot declare Reach if you've used Chi, Pon, or Open Kan.
If you manage to keep your hand closed, you can earn higher points. Be aware of the "Lost Hand" scenario, where you're waiting to win but cannot because you've already discarded a winning tile. Even with a Lost Hand, you can still win by self-drawing. The key is to avoid being "Ron" (winning off another player's discard) with a tile you've already discarded.
To increase your chances of winning, carefully observe the other players' discards and strategize your moves accordingly.
