Application Description

MotorSim 2 is a powerful performance calculator designed for land vehicles. This app provides a realistic physical simulation of straight-line acceleration, not a driving game. It allows you to meticulously configure technical vehicle characteristics and instantly see the resulting performance.

The interactive simulator features a speedometer, RPM meter, throttle, brake, and gear shifting (manual or automatic). It even includes a procedurally generated engine sound, adding to the immersive experience. Visualize your vehicle's progress along a 1/4 mile track segment. Saved "ghost" runs allow for easy comparison between different vehicle setups.

Configurable Vehicle Parameters:

  • Maximum Power
  • Power Curve (point-by-point definition)
  • Torque Curve (automatically calculated from power curve)
  • Maximum Engine RPM (ignition cutoff)
  • Gear Configuration (up to 10 gears)
  • Resistances (Cx, frontal area, rolling resistance coefficients)
  • Vehicle Weight
  • Tire Size
  • Shift Time
  • Transmission Efficiency

Calculated Performance Parameters:

  • Maximum Speed
  • Acceleration (0-60, 0-100, 0-200, 0-300 km/h, etc.)
  • Numerous other parameters measurable via the interactive simulator.
