Valve has returned post-New Year holidays, bringing with it the promise of fresh updates for several games. Despite speculation that Deadlock would adopt a more ambitious update schedule following their decision to move away from the bi-weekly cycle, the initial patch of 2025 came as somewhat of a surprise in its brevity.
This update focused exclusively on one hero, Yamato, who received a minor nerf in the form of reduced damage scaling and a diminished attack speed bonus during the first level of Shadow Transformation. In addition, Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot underwent adjustments, while Alchemical Fire saw a subtle rework.

It seems likely that gamers will need to exercise patience for a more comprehensive patch, though pinpointing an exact timeline remains challenging at this juncture.
Notably, Deadlock has experienced a noticeable decline in its player base recently, possibly linked to the growing popularity of Marvel Rivals. Nevertheless, maintaining an active online count between 7,000 and 19,000 players during beta testing reflects commendable engagement. As expected, Valve has yet to disclose any official launch plans or details regarding the game’s monetization strategy.
