Get ready, fans! Seth MacFarlane's beloved animated series, *American Dad*, is making a triumphant return to Fox in 2026. This marks the show's second debut on the network, where it will join new episodes of another MacFarlane classic, *Family Guy*. Both shows originally aired on Fox from 2005 to 2014 before moving to TBS until March of this year. Their return is part of Fox's strategy to maintain a "winning position" in primetime television programming.
Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, stating via Variety, "Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that's filled with irreverence, fun and much-needed laughter. Next year more than ever, we're bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu and beyond."

Fox is also innovating in the digital space, announcing the launch of their new streaming service, Fox One. This platform will integrate news, sports, and entertainment programming, offering both live streaming and on-demand access to the full catalog of Fox brands. Users will have the option to bundle Fox One with Fox Nation, creating a comprehensive entertainment experience all within one platform.
While *American Dad* does not yet have a confirmed premiere date for its Fox return, fans are eagerly anticipating its comeback. Rest assured, we'll all be tuning in (and singing along to that iconic theme song). It's likely that *American Dad* will also be available on Fox One, but we'll have more details on that next year.
