Running a livestock farm in Fields of Mistria can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, while the base game doesn't offer an auto-petter, modding provides a solution.

The Animal Friends mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods is your answer. This mod not only automates daily petting but also handles animal feeding. Crucially, you'll need the Mods of Mistria Installer to use this mod; it won't work without it.
Here's how to install:
- Create a new folder named "Mods" within your Fields of Mistria game files.
- Download
AnimalFriends.zipand place it in the "Mods" folder. - Extract the zip file's contents. You can then delete or move the original zip file.
- Run the Mods of Mistria Installer to install the mod.
The Animal Friends mod offers customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier boosts the hearts your animals gain, while the loss prevention ensures earned hearts remain.
To adjust settings, locate AnimalFriends.json within the extracted mod folder. This simple text file lets you enable or disable features. Change "false" to "true" to activate, and vice-versa.
The friendship multiplier requires a numerical input (1-100). Setting it to 100 bypasses bonding, while 1 disables the feature.
Upon initial installation, auto-petting and auto-feeding are off by default. However, the mod already multiplies petting heart gains by five and automatically activates friendship loss prevention.
To remove the mod, don't simply delete the folder. Use the Mods of Mistria Installer to uninstall it properly, preventing save file corruption.
Remember to back up your save file before installing any mods. While generally stable, a backup is always prudent.
