While exploring the world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you'll eventually encounter a fierce battle with Rey Dau, a formidable dragon monster. This lightning-elemental beast is not to be trifled with, and it will aggressively pursue your hunting party.

Rey Dau, the first dragon you'll face in Monster Hunter Wilds, is immune to lightning attacks. However, it's highly vulnerable to ice and water-based attacks. Prioritize its head (4-star weakness) for maximum damage. Its wings (3-star weakness) are also a good target. Avoid its torso, as it's heavily armored. While its head is a challenging target, its tail offers a more accessible alternative. Its legs are well-protected, so avoid targeting them. Utilize all status effects except Stun and Paralysis.
Use a Flash Pod
A Flash Pod is a highly effective tool for momentarily stunning Rey Dau, creating an opening for powerful attacks. Capitalize on this opportunity to strike its glowing red horns during its lightning attack (enter Focus Mode for better visibility).
Wear Element-Resistant Gear
To enhance survivability, equip gear that boosts elemental resistance. The Hope Armor set, with its Divine Blessing skill, reduces damage and provides resistance to lightning and fire, making it ideal for this encounter. Consider also consuming a meal that increases elemental resistance.
If dodging proves difficult, stay close to Rey Dau's legs. The monster primarily attacks the areas in front and behind it, making its legs a relatively safer position.
Pay Attention to the Environment
Rey Dau will fly between locations. In the open plains, utilize the Vine Traps found on the lone tree to briefly stun it. Exercise caution near its nest, as it has a powerful follow-up lightning attack in that area.

How to Capture Rey Dau in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing Rey Dau offers alternative rewards. Reduce its health until the skull icon appears near its mini-map icon. Then, deploy a Pitfall Trap (Shock Traps are ineffective against lightning dragons) followed by a Tranquilizer to secure the capture. Act quickly, as you have a limited window to complete this action.
