Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update heats up the game with exciting new content.
Onsen Training transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, where they'll engage in swordfighting battles and face a variety of BrownDust2-style challenges, all while dealing with some amusing monkey mischief.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
The update introduces three new characters. Ventana, the protagonist of the story, along with Liberta, are available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Blade, on the other hand, is exclusive to the narrative.
Set in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, the Onsen Training event story features 30 battles divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The story kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is reeling from a recent defeat at the hands of Justia, a new student. Determined to restore her honor, Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring known for enhancing physical strength. However, her training plans are thrown into chaos when she encounters the mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
She is saved by Blade, a legendary graduate of the Kendo Club, who rebuffs her request to learn swordsmanship. That's when Liberta, the hot spring manager, steps in, offering to help Ventana win Blade's training.
There’s a New Mini-Game
A new mini-game, Onsen Tile Tactics, challenges players to clear tiles in a race against time. The event story unfolds in phases, starting with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating in Beyond Legend in the third week.
Players will face both returning and new bosses. Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, makes a comeback in the first week, while in the third week, players will confront the fiery Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a giant monkey that gains strength when targeting enemies with DoT effects.
Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no properties, Rucersingha delivers devastating attacks and requires a lot of chain stacks to defeat.
Players can also collect new gear and costumes. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
