You'll know you're in the right place when you see Tanuki statues scattered around. Follow the path upwards until you reach a clearing where the legendary Tanuki will be wandering. Approach stealthily to complete your painting.
Legendary Grey Heron – Winter, Daytime

The Grey Heron awaits in the Wakasa region's Lake Suigetsu area during winter daytime. Navigate to the cluster of islands west of Lake Suigetsu. Approach the area cautiously without riding in too quickly. Dismount at a distance, walk to the marked spot, and sneak up on the Grey Heron to complete your Sumi-E.
Legendary Macaque – All Seasons, Nighttime

For the Legendary Macaque, travel to the Yamashiro region and find the Little Leaf Glade sub-region. Locate the Sarumaru Shrine near the mountains. Wait until night falls, then climb the stairs to the top where you'll find the three wise monkeys. Capture this serene scene with your Sumi-E.
Legendary Silver Fox – Autumn, Nighttime

The elusive Silver Fox can be found at night during autumn in the Kii region's Nakahechi Route sub-region. Head to the Kamimisu Inari Shrine, surrounded by fox statues, and approach the cliff's edge where the fox awaits. Capture this moment with your Sumi-E.
Legendary Deer – Spring, Nighttime

In the Yamato region, navigate to the Yoshino sub-region during spring nighttime. The nearest fast-travel point is the Mountain Blossom Temple to the west. Follow the path east to reach Sakura Meadows. Ascend the slopes to a clearing where the legendary Deer will be waiting for you to immortalize it in your Sumi-E.
Keep in mind that even if you're at the right location during the correct season and time, the animals might not always spawn. If this happens, try fast-traveling to a nearby location and returning to see if your luck changes. With patience and persistence, you'll soon complete your collection.
