CD Projekt Red, developer of Cyberpunk 2077, isn't finished: the game is set to receive one more update later this month. What does this upcoming patch include, and will it truly be the final one?
Cyberpunk 2077 Developers Have More in the Pipeline
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26
CD Projekt Red has announced another upcoming update for Cyberpunk 2077. During their REDstreams broadcast on June 5, the developers confirmed a new patch is scheduled for release later this month.
Wrapping up the celebration of Cyberpunk 2077's launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, CD Projekt Red stated that Patch 2.3 will be released on June 26, with more details to be revealed in a separate livestream ahead of its deployment.
On June 5, Global Community Director Marcin Momot reinforced this announcement on Twitter (X), urging fans to stay tuned for further information about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update. Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko echoed this on June 6, stating the team has been working on this update in secret and will share more details when ready.
Is This Truly the Final Update?

For a while, CD Projekt Red has released several "final" updates for the game. This next patch, however, may genuinely be the last as the studio shifts focus toward development of Cyberpunk 2. During the latest REDstreams, the developers even joked that the previous "final" update wasn't actually final.
Initially, CD Projekt Red declared Patch 2.1, released alongside the Ultimate Edition in December 2023, to be the game's "last major update." Then, in December 2024, Patch 2.2—developed with support studio Virtuos—introduced more customization features. Many fans believed this to be the definitive final update, given the game's original 2020 release.
This pattern of extended post-launch support is also evident with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The studio first stated that the next-gen Patch 4.0 in December 2022 would be the last, only to release another significant patch, 4.04, in July 2023.
More recently, CD Projekt Red confirmed The Witcher 3 will receive its actual final update later this year. In a May 30 post celebrating the game's 10th anniversary on Twitter (X), the studio announced the upcoming patch will introduce cross-platform mod support, enabling players to share their creations in a unified ecosystem.

With Cyberpunk 2 now in pre-production and The Witcher 4 showcasing its latest tech demo, the forthcoming patches for their predecessors are likely to be the final ones. For now, Cyberpunk fans can enjoy the game on Nintendo's latest handheld device.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2 as of June 5, 2025. This edition includes the complete base game, all post-launch updates, and the acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion. For the latest news on the game, see our related article below.
