Gaming insider Jez Corden, on a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast, hinted at a later-than-expected release for State of Decay 3, now projected for early 2026.
Initially slated for a 2025 launch by Undead Labs, the zombie survival game's release timeline has apparently shifted. Corden assures that development is significantly further along than previously perceived, although specifics remain undisclosed.
While this news may disappoint fans, it's a more optimistic timeframe than earlier predictions suggesting a 2027 release. The June 2024 trailer offered a glimpse of the game's Mad Max-inspired post-apocalyptic setting, featuring intense gun battles against hordes of zombies and vehicular combat.
State of Decay 3, set years after the apocalypse, challenges players to establish and defend thriving settlements against relentless undead attacks. The game is in development for PC and Xbox Series X|S, following the release of its predecessor in 2018.
