After Yasuke hears rumors of “worse men” from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s how and where to find every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.
How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Your first clue to Kimura Kei's whereabouts comes from a ronin contact in Kii. You'll find him in central Nakahechi Route at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble locating him, consider using Scouts to pinpoint his exact position. The building you're looking for will be marked with green flags and situated next to a cherry blossom tree. Inside, you'll meet a ronin dressed in Oda Clan attire. Engage him in conversation, and he'll direct you to a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.
Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie
Kumabe Ujiie can be found in northern Kii, specifically at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of the Kongobuji Temple. He'll be accompanied by his ronin escort, but there's no need to engage them. Approach Kumabe Ujiie and select the “I seek guidance” dialogue option. Follow him, and he'll eventually reveal Kimura Kei's location.
How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei
Kimura Kei's Training Grounds are located in the southwestern part of Kii, just north of the shore, halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Once you arrive, blend in with the other students to reach Kimura Kei. He'll recognize Yasuke and order his students to attack. You'll be surrounded by ronin, and more will come as you advance towards Kimura Kei. Equip your best armor and weapons, and don't forget to use the strategically placed red explosive barrels to clear groups of enemies.
When you finally confront Kimura Kei, be prepared for a multi-phase boss fight. He cannot be stealth assassinated. In the first phase, he wields a standard Katana. Parry his attacks to make him vulnerable and use posture attacks and abilities to break his armor. As the fight progresses to the second phase, he'll switch to a Long Katana and a standard Katana, increasing his use of unblockable attacks. Focus on dodging and striking when safe. Once his health is halved, the battle moves outside, where his attacks become even more powerful. Keep your distance, dodge frequently, and use your bow or teppo for ranged attacks.
Every Reward for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Defeating Kimura Kei rewards you with 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor reduces the impact of enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke's damage by 10% for every 10% of his health missing.
How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
After defeating the Shinbakufu, the Silver Queen will appear on the Templar Board, aiding the Portuguese in their pillaging of Tamba. To reach her, you'll need to speak with several contacts first, starting with a spy.
Where to Find and Talk to The Spy
The spy is located in Southeast Tamba in the Silver Lands. Upon entering the investigation area, you'll find him sitting on a rug under a small structure next to a wooden cart and crates. Speak to him, and he'll provide you with the Silver Queen's location.
Where to Meet the Silver Queen
The Silver Queen can be found in the town of Tada, just Northeast of the Tada Kakurega. She'll be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach and speak to her, then follow her to her house where you'll share tea and subsequently wake up in Tada Silver Mine.
How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine
When Yasuke awakens from the drugged tea, he'll find himself in a locked room within Tada Silver Mine. Break down the door by sprinting into it. After dealing with the guards, you have the option to either fight your way out or sneak. Sneaking is recommended for a quicker escape. Head southwest out of the mine, eliminating any enemies in your path until you're free.
How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi
The Silver Queen requires Yasuke's help to rescue her brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, in exchange for information on Yasuke’s true target. After escaping Tada Silver Mine, head north toward Kameyama Castle. If you need supplies, there's a Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple in Kameyama.
Activate Pathfinder to navigate through Kameyama Castle, taking out guards as you proceed along the suggested path. Inside the living quarters, you'll find a dying servant who provides you with a key to the castle’s Tenshu.
How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana
With the key in hand, enter the main castle building under the Viewpoint and unlock the door where Akechi Mitsuyoshi is held. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to eliminate threats from a distance. Once he's free, return to the castle to retrieve his Katana from Baltazar after defeating him and his soldiers. Use abilities and posture attacks to break Baltazar's guard and deal critical damage. After defeating Baltazar, head north to Atago Shrine, where Akechi Mitsuyoshi will provide the location of your next target.
How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro
Yasuke's ultimate target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan and can be found in Western Tamba at Takeda Castle. This castle is perched high on a mountain, accessible via a winding road. Use Pathfinder to find the most direct route. Takeda Castle is heavily guarded with alarm bells that can alert enemies to your presence. Disable these with your bow or teppo to maintain stealth. As you ascend, you'll reach a set of double doors leading to Nuno Caro.
Eliminate Nuno Caro's men as you climb the castle. At the top, you'll face Nuno Caro in a boss fight. He wields a sword and pistol, using a combo of up to four sword swipes that can be blocked or parried. Watch for his pistol, which glows red before firing; dodge to avoid its shot. Use Abilities to deal high damage and make him vulnerable, then attack until he's defeated. With Nuno Caro's death, you'll complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board.
