Disney Lorcana continues to build momentum with a wave of exciting updates that deepen the game’s competitive structure, expand its beloved Disney universe, and enhance accessibility for new players. The spotlight is on Fabled, the ninth set set to launch on September 5, 2025, bringing groundbreaking features like the first-ever Iconic and Epic rarity cards, the debut of characters from A Goofy Movie, and the introduction of card rotation for competitive play.
Fabled Introduces Iconic and Epic Cards, Plus Competitive Rotation
Fabled marks a pivotal evolution in Disney Lorcana’s design. For the first time, players will chase Iconic Cards—the rarest tier in the game—with only two per set. The inaugural pair features Mickey and Minnie on a carousel, showcasing premium art and foil treatments that make them must-have collectibles. Alongside them come Epic Cards, rarer than Legendary but more accessible than Enchanted or Iconic. These offer stunning visuals and unique variants—like a potential Snow Queen Elsa—that elevate both gameplay and collection value.
To keep the meta fresh and strategy-driven, Fabled ushers in the first official rotation for Core Constructed competitive play. Cards from the first four sets will no longer be legal in this format—but don’t worry: older cards remain viable in the new Infinity Constructed format. Plus, select fan favorites (including Enchanted versions) will be reprinted in Fabled, ensuring key cards stay accessible for competitive and casual decks alike.

New Collection Starter Set for Beginners
For newcomers eager to dive in, the Collection Starter Set offers an ideal entry point. It includes four Fabled booster packs, a Glimmer Foil promo of Tinker Bell (Giant Fairy), a portfolio featuring Mickey Mouse (Brave Little Tailor), and a collector’s guide—everything needed to start building, playing, and collecting right away.
Reign of Jafar Brings Aladdin, Bambi, and Co-Op Play
Launching earlier on June 6, 2025, Reign of Jafar dives deeper into the ongoing story arc as Jafar wields the Hexwell Crown to corrupt Archazia’s Island. Players can expect powerful new characters like Jasmine – Steady Strategist, Rapunzel – High Climber, Bambi – Prince of the Forest, and Jafar – High Sultan of Lorcana. Also included are Thumper, Flower, Magic Carpet, and Aladdin – Vigilant Guard.
This set also debuts Illumineers' Quest: Palace Heist, a cooperative box experience for four players designed to challenge teams against Jafar and his minions—an innovative way to enjoy Lorcana socially while exploring new mechanics and strategies.

What’s Next? Whispers in the Well and Darkwing Duck
Looking ahead, the next set after Fabled is titled Whispers in the Well, arriving in Q4 2025. While details remain scarce, concept art teases the inclusion of Mickey, Ariel, and potentially the Disney Gargoyles universe—plus a mysterious new type of Glimmer. Even farther out, fans rejoiced at the official confirmation that Darkwing Duck will join the TCG in 2026, answering long-standing community demand.
Disney Lorcana World Championship at Walt Disney World
The competitive scene reaches its peak with the inaugural Disney Lorcana TCG World Championship, taking place June 28–29 at Walt Disney World. Top players from around the globe will compete for the title of World Champion, while fans can follow live coverage on Twitch.TV/DisneyLorcana with casters including RebekahQuests, LorcanaVillain, The Illumiteers, Bsquared24, and JDZ Quest. Attendees and online viewers may also have the chance to earn a special non-foil promo card: A Whole New World.
