Eye-Steered Driving Now in Early Access on Android with Open Drive

Open Drive, a groundbreaking racing game for mobile devices, is now available in early access on Android. Developed by SpecialEffect, a charity dedicated to helping physically disabled players enjoy video games, in collaboration with Sun & Moon Studios, this game redefines accessibility in gaming.

What's the Game About?

Open Drive is designed to be inclusive, allowing players to choose their preferred method of control, be it touch, keyboard and mouse, switch access, or a controller. The game's standout feature is its mobile-specific eye control, which enables players to steer simply by looking left or right, making it a significant advancement for players with physical challenges. This feature is available across all four of the game's open worlds: Stunt, Speed, Snow, and Meadow.

The gameplay offers a versatile experience where players can leisurely drive and collect orbs or chase high scores with daring jumps using vehicles like the Roadster, Trickster, or Speedster. Players can also customize the game speed to their liking. Check out the early access announcement trailers of Open Drive below.

Open Drive Is Now Out in Early Access

Open Drive intelligently auto-detects the player's chosen control method and adjusts the game settings accordingly. For those using Android devices, Switch Access is fully supported. The game offers various control setups, including 'Precise' and 'Classic' modes for touch controls, as well as specialized setups for Switch Access, mouse, keyboard, and Android-compatible gamepads/controllers.

Currently available in early access on Android, the full version of Open Drive, including the complete eye control functionality, is set to be released later this summer for free. You can explore the game now on the Google Play Store.
