The latest website update showcases icons of four out of the eight main characters. Clicking these icons reveals detailed descriptions and fresh artwork by FF9’s character designer, Toshiyuki Itahana, who has also contributed to the Crystal Chronicles and Chocobo series. These descriptions provide insights into each character's goals and role within the story.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, the meticulous detail Square Enix has put into this anniversary celebration suggests that a significant announcement might be on the horizon. Fans eagerly await further news about a possible FF9 remake.

Garnet’s Silver Necklace is available for pre-order, with an anticipated release date of November 15. Priced at around 38,500 yen, or approximately $260, it's a must-have for collectors. Vivi’s hat, also available for pre-order, is set to launch on September 6 at a cost of 17,600 yen, or about $120.
The FF9 Acrylic Stand Collection offers eight different designs in blind boxes, adding an element of surprise for fans.
