Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the exciting Dark Odyssey collection, a new update for God of War Ragnarök set to arrive next week. This update brings a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, and it's free for all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Sony shared all the details in a PlayStation.Blog post, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the God of War series. The Dark Odyssey collection, dropping on March 20, offers a stunning black-and-gold aesthetic that promises to elevate the appearance of Kratos and his companions as they battle through Norse mythology. Both Atreus and Freya will receive their own unique cosmetic sets, along with various shields and weapons for the player.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey update is undoubtedly the special armor set and appearance for Kratos, reminiscent of a legendary skin from God of War 2 that was originally unlocked by beating the game on God Mode. This coveted outfit can be claimed from any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Additionally, players will now have the freedom to customize the appearance of Kratos' weapons without affecting their abilities.
