GTA 6 Trailer 2 Used a PS5, Setting High Expectations

Rockstar Games recently sent shockwaves through the gaming community with the reveal of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). The second trailer, which showcased stunning visuals and intricate gameplay elements, has sparked widespread curiosity among fans. According to Rockstar, the entire trailer was captured directly from the PS5, setting a new benchmark for realism and performance in gaming.

Captured Entirely Using PS5

In a tweet on May 8, Rockstar confirmed that the second trailer was "composed entirely of gameplay and cutscenes, captured in-game on a PlayStation 5." This revelation has sparked debates among gamers about the distinction between in-game footage and pre-rendered cutscenes. While some fans marveled at the seamless integration of both, others speculated whether the trailer showcased pure gameplay or heavily polished cinematic sequences.

A point of confusion arose regarding whether Rockstar was referring to the standard PS5 or the PS5 Digital Edition (Pro). The differences in graphical capabilities between the two models have fueled further intrigue, leaving fans eager for clarification from Rockstar.

Hidden Gems in the GTA 6 Second Trailer

The trailer offered a plethora of details and Easter eggs for eagle-eyed fans to uncover. One notable reference was the return of Phil Cassidy, a beloved character from previous GTA titles. Fans noted a noticeable change in his appearance, particularly his physique, suggesting a modernized take on the classic character. Despite the makeover, Phil retains his signature charm and remains entrenched in the gun trade, operating an Ammu-Nation store chain.

Another intriguing moment involved a glimpse of a PS5 console and controller within the trailer, likely a subtle nod to the hardware used for capturing the footage. This detail added an interesting layer to the overall presentation.

Bringing Back Classic Features

Rockstar appears to be reintroducing several beloved features from earlier GTA games. One such highlight is the Gym System, last seen in GTA San Andreas. The protagonist, Jason Duval, is shown working out on a beach, hinting at the possibility of a fitness-centric gameplay mechanic.

The trailer also showcased various activities that could be available in the game, including golf, fishing, scuba diving, hunting, basketball, kayaking, and fight clubs. While unconfirmed, these inclusions align with Rockstar's claim that every scene was captured directly from the game engine, fueling speculation about the depth and variety of gameplay experiences.

Fans continue to dig deeper into the trailer, discovering additional references and Easter eggs. Despite the recent announcement of a delayed release, anticipation remains high. GTA 6 is now scheduled for release on May 26, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
