The Seagate Expansion houses a single 26TB disk drive, so it has the same physical size as other desktop hard drives. It comes with a USB 3.0 interface that won't limit traditional hard drive speeds and includes a USB 3.0 cable in the box. The drive also features data recovery software and automatically works with both Windows and Mac systems.
While SSDs are popular today, traditional hard drives remain the better choice for long-term storage. First, hard drives are far more affordable. Compared to this drive's $9.62 per terabyte price, an SSD would cost at least $60 per terabyte. Hard drives also offer much higher maximum capacities. Consumer SSDs generally max out at 8TB, which is far less than this drive's 26TB capacity. Most importantly, while SSD and HDD lifespans can be similar, data recovery from a failed hard drive is typically much easier than from a failed SSD.
