Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: How To Get Effects Of Two Outfits Simultaneously

Mastering the Two-Outfit Trick in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the effects of multiple outfits, a powerful technique with some limitations.

Remastered Version Required

This two-outfit method is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced transmog, allowing you to retain an outfit's stats while visually wearing another. This eliminates the need to compromise on appearance for optimal stats.

Outfit Requirements

This technique isn't universal. While your primary outfit is your choice, the secondary (for visual appearance only) must be one of these three Banuk Werak outfits from the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)

Note: Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is required, but completing the main game isn't necessary.

Obtaining Banuk Werak Outfits

Banuk Werak Runner

Reach the Frozen Wilds expansion area (defeat the initial machine; adjust difficulty or upgrade gear if needed). Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) and purchase the outfit. Costs are detailed below:

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept

Complete the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest). This quest is challenging; consider lowering the difficulty to Story mode if needed. The Adept version is obtainable only in New Game Plus (NG+).

Combining Outfit Effects

Equip your desired outfit (the one with the stats you want; enhance stats using Weaves). Then, use the transmog feature to change the appearance to one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.

While these Banuk Werak outfits don't offer additional stats, they provide a crucial passive benefit: automatic healing after taking damage. This passive healing combines with your chosen outfit’s stats, creating a powerful synergy. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer faster healing than the Runner. If your primary outfit is Shield Weaver, this combination makes you virtually unstoppable.
