Hyper Light Breaker Hoverboard Guide: Mastering Movement in the Overgrowth

The sprawling Synthwave world of Hyper Light Breaker's Overgrowth can feel daunting, but mastering the Hoverboard is key to efficient traversal. This guide will show you how to utilize this often-overlooked, yet essential, movement tool. Unlike many games, the Hoverboard is available from the very beginning.

Summoning Your Hoverboard

Activating the Hoverboard is simple: hold down the Dodge button. Your character will dash forward and automatically mount the Hoverboard as long as you continue holding the button.

Hoverboard control is intuitive. The left analog stick controls direction; leaning increases with speed, making slower turns more precise. Release the Dodge button to dismount. The Hoverboard will also automatically deactivate if your Energy depletes. Monitor your Energy level (displayed near your companion) to avoid unexpected dismounts.

Advanced Hoverboard Techniques & Uses

While the Hoverboard lacks trick functionality, it boasts some significant advantages:

  • Water Navigation: The Hoverboard effortlessly floats on water, eliminating the need to circumvent waterways. However, you must be already on the Hoverboard when entering the water for it to function.

  • Controlled Jumps: Holding the Jump button while on the Hoverboard allows for a lower profile, aiding in precise jump timing, especially for longer gaps. While this doesn't enhance jump height or speed, it improves accuracy.

Mastering the Hoverboard significantly enhances exploration and traversal in Hyper Light Breaker. Utilize these tips to navigate the Overgrowth with speed and precision.
