Exciting new developments are on the horizon for Disneyland Paris, as The Lion King ride is set to begin construction in Fall 2025. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this will mark the debut of the first-ever land and attraction inspired by the iconic 1994 film. Nestled within the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World, this new water ride will immerse guests in the memorable scenes from the classic movie. The Lion King-themed area will boast a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and offer a variety of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
Disney has unveiled a stunning concept image of the ride, featuring Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This is just one highlight of the ride, which will also feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Although an exact opening date hasn't been announced, the ride will follow the debut of World of Frozen in 2026, contributing to the expansive vision of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.
Alongside The Lion King and World of Frozen, the park will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Additionally, the first-ever attraction themed after Up will offer a unique "spinning carousel" experience with breathtaking views of the park's scenery.
The World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will serve as the grand new entrance to Disney Adventure World, designed to emulate a glamorous Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza will draw inspiration from Broadway and London's West End, featuring theaters hosting spectacular shows such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
