It's the third consecutive day that I'm covering the end of service for another game. Today, on January 30th, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global officially reaches its end, with servers set to shut down. So, what's next for fans of this beloved title?
How Long Did This One Last?
Developed by Sumzap and initially published by Nexon before being handed over to Sesisoft, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was indeed a commendable game. However, its run in the global market was relatively brief. The global servers operated for 3.5 years, while the Japanese servers lasted a solid 5 years. For an anime-based gacha game, especially one that saw declining revenue, this duration is quite respectable.
The developers have shifted their focus to another project, the JJK gacha game known as Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade. Yet, they didn't neglect KonoSuba: Fantastic Days until its very end. They continued to engage the community with voiced story updates and even released a final song just three weeks ago.
A farewell livestream was held in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, showing the team's commitment to the game's community. The Japanese version went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing players to relive the adventures of Kazuma and his quirky team at any time. Additionally, an offline version was made available, enabling fans to access the game's story, voice lines, and character collection even after the servers shut down.
Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global won't have an offline version or a dedicated YouTube channel. However, fans can still enjoy the Japanese YouTube channel to spend more time with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the crew.
That concludes our coverage on the shutdown of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global. Stay tuned for our next update on Karrablast and Shelmet in the February Community Day of Pokémon Go.
