Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, as announced during Disney's Upfront presentation in New York. This exciting news, reported by Variety, confirms months of speculation and rumors about the return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter, joined by Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage, shared her enthusiasm about stepping back into the shoes of the beloved private investigator. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life on screen with the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 1 on Netflix in 2015. The series continued with two more seasons and a team-up in The Defenders. However, as Netflix's relationship with original Marvel content began to fade, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter as Jones again.
The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again sparked discussions about the potential return of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting to see Ritter's Jessica Jones join the action in Season 2.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at further involvement in the MCU beyond Daredevil: Born Again. Although a release date for Season 2 has not been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that fans can look forward to more episodes in March 2026.
