Appy Monkeys, an India-based developer, has unveiled Lokko, a new 3D platformer created in collaboration with Sony's India Hero Project. This exciting project highlights the growing game development scene in India, adding to titles like Indus Battle Royale and showcasing its potential for innovation.

Lokko, a 3D platformer featuring robust level editors and an in-depth avatar creator, tasks players with timely pizza deliveries while battling the monopolistic Goobol food corporation. The game's unique selling point is its cross-platform compatibility, offering cross-play between mobile, PC, and PS5, and integrating DualShock functionality across all platforms.

Lokko draws inspiration from successful gaming titles, incorporating character customization, level creation, and a low-poly aesthetic reminiscent of Roblox. However, backed by PlayStation's support, it aims to provide a compelling alternative to similar platforms.

While the gameplay mechanics might not be revolutionary, Appy Monkeys' vision is promising. The game's cross-platform capabilities and the potential of the India Hero Project make Lokko a title worth watching. Although a precise release date is yet to be announced (beyond sometime this year), Lokko promises to be a significant addition to the gaming landscape.

In the meantime, check out another excellent cross-platform indie release: Dredge from Black Salt Games!
