Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Rank Reset: No Reset, New Rewards!
Confusion surrounded a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset for Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.
However, due to significant player feedback expressing concerns about the frequency of rank resets, NetEase Games reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores.
To earn new rewards, players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of Season 1. These rewards include a new Gold rank costume and various Crests of Honor with unique designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All ranks.
This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete at the top level.
Season 1 Mid-Season Update Content:
Beyond the rank reset decision, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) remain unannounced, promising further excitement and discussion within the community.
