Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1 Balancing Updates

Marvel Rivals Receives Pre-Season 1 Balance Patch with Significant Character Adjustments

NetEase has deployed a comprehensive balance patch for Marvel Rivals, impacting numerous heroes ahead of Season 1's January 10th launch. This update features buffs, nerfs, and refinements across all hero categories, addressing community feedback and preparing the game for the substantial changes Season 1 will bring.

Marvel Rivals, a popular hero-shooter released late 2024, has quickly gained traction. Its roster of iconic Marvel characters, combined with team-based gameplay elements like payloads and capture points, has resonated with players. Season 1, focused on the Fantastic Four, will further expand the game's content. This pre-season patch ensures a more balanced and enjoyable experience before the major content drop.

The patch extensively revises every hero class. Several Duelists, including Black Panther, Hawkeye, Hela, and Scarlet Witch, received minor nerfs. Conversely, Black Widow, Magik, Moon Knight, Wolverine, and Winter Soldier have received buffs, encompassing health increases and shorter cooldown times. A significant buff to Storm, previously considered underpowered, is particularly noteworthy. Her Bolt Rush now inflicts 80 damage (up from 70), and her Wind Blade projectile speed has been increased from 100m/s to 150m/s.

Vanguards also see adjustments. Captain America and Thor gain health boosts, while Venom's Feast of the Abyss ability now deals increased damage. Among Strategists, Cloak & Dagger, Jeff the Land Shark, Luna Snow, Mantis, and Rocket Raccoon all receive tweaks. For instance, Cloak & Dagger's Dagger Storm cooldown is reduced, and Jeff's Joyful Splash healing is enhanced. Rocket Raccoon's repair mode efficiency is also improved.

Finally, several team-up abilities—activated by specific hero combinations—have undergone modifications. Some team-up season bonuses have been lowered (e.g., Hawkeye/Black Widow, Hela/Thor/Loki), while others have reduced cooldowns (e.g., Rocket Raccoon/Punisher/Winter Soldier, Thor/Storm/Captain America).

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Balance Patch Notes Summary:

Duelists: Significant changes to Black Panther, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hela, Magik, Moon Knight, Namor, Psylocke, Punisher, Scarlet Witch, Storm, Squirrel Girl, Winter Soldier, and Wolverine. Notable buffs to Storm and several others, with minor nerfs to others.

Vanguards: Adjustments to Captain America, Doctor Strange, Thor, Hulk, and Venom. Health increases are common, along with other ability refinements.

Strategists: Tweaks to Cloak & Dagger, Jeff the Land Shark, Luna Snow, Mantis, and Rocket Raccoon. Focus on cooldown reductions and increased healing/damage output.

Team-Up Abilities: Various changes to cooldown times and bonus percentages for specific hero combinations.

This extensive patch demonstrates NetEase's commitment to balancing Marvel Rivals and creating a competitive and engaging experience for players as they anticipate the arrival of Season 1.
