Curious about the new Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter Wilds*? These innovative weapons are a late-game feature that lets you craft personalized gear with tailored stats and elements. Here's everything you need to know about them.
How to Craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
To unlock the ability to craft Artian weapons, you must first complete the main story and reach High Rank. Then, you'll need to take down your first Tempered monster. You'll recognize this monster by its distinctive appearance and the NPCs' remarks about its toughness and scars.
After defeating this challenging beast, Gemma will initiate a conversation about Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial on how to craft them. Each weapon type requires three components, and you must have at least one of each to start crafting. However, the process is more nuanced than it seems.
Components come with a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. To craft a weapon, the components must share the same rarity value. The elemental effect of your weapon depends on the predominant element among the components. For instance, using two water and one lightning component will result in a water-based weapon. Using three water components will enhance the water infusion, but mixing three different elements will yield a weapon with no elemental infusion.
The Artian bonus can provide either an attack boost, increasing your weapon's damage output, or an affinity boost, enhancing your critical hit chance. Your choice will depend on your preferred playstyle. To craft these weapons, you'll need to gather Artian materials.
How to Get Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds
Obtaining Artian materials involves hunting Tempered monsters in High Rank areas. Once you've defeated your first Tempered monster, you'll start encountering one or two in each area. They are easily identifiable on the map with their blue outlines, and you'll receive notifications when they appear.
Defeating or capturing these monsters will reward you with Artian parts, which you can farm to collect the materials you need. These parts appear in your rewards alongside decorations, and their rarity increases with your hunter rank. While there's no direct correlation between the monster you hunt and the Artian drops you receive, you can focus on hunting monsters you enjoy or those you need parts from for other weapons or armor pieces.
