MindsEye: New GTA-Style Game Trailer Released, $60 Price, Content Plan Unveiled

Author : Finn May 28,2025

Build A Rocket Boy, the developer behind MindsEye, has unveiled an exciting new trailer for their upcoming game, alongside confirming its $59.99 price point and detailing the content players can expect at launch. Led by Leslie Benzies, a former Rockstar North veteran, the studio has set a June 10, 2025 release date for MindsEye, which will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Set in the futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye offers a meticulously crafted linear story campaign where players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier. Haunted by fragmented memories from his MindsEye neural implant, Jacob unravels a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, unchecked military power, and a threat that jeopardizes humanity's survival. The game’s narrative is enhanced by stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

A standout feature for PC players is the game creation system, which allows users to build their own experiences using MindsEye assets. This unique tool is exclusive to the PC version, promising a high level of creativity and engagement for its community.

Priced at $59.99, MindsEye represents a refreshing alternative to the standard $70 to $80 AAA game price tag. For this price, players get a comprehensive package at launch, including the main linear story campaign, single-player free roam, various missions such as the "Destruction Site Shootout" horde mode, and combat missions like "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire." The game also includes six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Those opting for the premium pass will enjoy an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

In the broader context of the gaming industry, the cost of video games has become a hot topic, with major players like Nintendo and Microsoft moving towards $80 price points. However, some mid-range titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and 2K's upcoming Mafia: The Old Country have found success at $50. MindsEye's pricing strategy positions it as a competitive offering in this landscape.

Looking beyond the launch, Build A Rocket Boy has committed to delivering a "constant stream" of new premium content monthly, ensuring that MindsEye remains a dynamic and evolving experience. This includes new missions, challenges, and game assets. The studio emphasizes that the combination of studio-developed content and community creations will keep the game fresh and engaging for years to come.

The 2025 roadmap for MindsEye includes community updates and new missions in the summer, new single-player modes, multiplayer, and additional missions in the fall, and free roam updates along with new missions in the winter. Premium pass holders will have access to extra missions and new packs throughout the year, further enriching their gaming experience.
