A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered strong evidence suggesting the inclusion of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, rebranded as Quitalities, in a future update.
Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations within the game's files. Hara-Kiri finishers, introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deception, allow defeated players to inflict a self-inflicted fatality. The discovery is significant because these animations were found for recently added DLC characters like Ghostface, making it highly likely they're intended for future implementation rather than discarded content. InfiniteNightZ noted the animations are labeled as "Quitalities" in the game's code, suggesting they'll trigger when a player quits a multiplayer match, similar to previous Mortal Kombat titles.
Further bolstering this claim, prominent dataminer Interloko subsequently unearthed additional Hara-Kiri animations. While most characters appear to have them, Interloko noted Omniman and Conan were exceptions.

Thanks @MatthewDim40523 for tagging me. Here are another 2 missing from the video, so it looks like only Omniman and Conan don't have one. I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm busy finishing some stuff for the demo of my own game [link to game demo] pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf — Interloko (@interloko) February 16, 2025
It's important to remember that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games haven't officially confirmed Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1. However, this discovery, coupled with the recent addition of the secret Floyd fight and anticipation for the T-1000 guest character, fuels speculation about further DLC and features on the horizon.
