Unlocking Multiple Pets in Stardew Valley
Screenshot by The EscapistInitially, you can adopt one pet. The 1.6 update introduced the ability to have multiple pets. To unlock this, you must maximize your friendship level with your existing pet. Daily interactions are key: fill their water bowl (except on rainy/snowy days) and pet them (indicated by a heart). Check their friendship level in the "Animals" menu. Once maxed, Marnie will contact you about adopting more pets (or at the start of Year 2 if you didn't adopt a pet initially).
