Myst-Like Lovecraftian Point-And-Click Puzzle My Father Lied Is Coming to Android This Year

In today's crowded gaming market, finding a truly unique game can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative and intriguing gameplay. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure offers a captivating story that sets it apart from the competition.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't initially aiming for a career in game development. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, but the story remained with him.

Alameen decided to pursue the project independently, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to bring his vision to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery: The Game's Narrative

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and surprises. Players take on the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

My Father Lied skillfully blends ancient Mesopotamian culture with a modern narrative. The puzzles are simple point-and-click, avoiding complex controls, and are complemented by beautiful 2D visuals and 360-degree images.
