Netflix has officially partnered with the creators of Sifu to bring its compelling narrative to the silver screen. First announced in 2022, the film adaptation has been in development under the guidance of Story Kitchen, in collaboration with Sloclap, the game's developer. Recently, however, Deadline revealed that the production team has grown substantially.

The streaming giant has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his work on the Maze Runner franchise and Netflix's Project Adam, to craft the screenplay. Although Derek Kolstad, who initially adapted Sifu's storyline, may still be involved, his current involvement remains uncertain.
Further elevating the project, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick series, along with his production company 87Eleven Entertainment, will act as executive producers. Interestingly, Stahelski is simultaneously working on another prominent video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.
Launched in 2022, Sifu rapidly gained popularity, surpassing one million sales within its first three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist avenging their master's murder. Equipped with a magical amulet that resurrects them post-death but accelerates their aging, the protagonist navigates a perilous world filled with danger and mystery.
