Even before its official announcement, many viewers criticized Game of Thrones: Kingsroad's visuals, comparing them to a PlayStation 3-era licensed game or a typical mobile title. The Steam Next Fest demo, however, silenced the optimists. The consensus is overwhelmingly negative. Players slammed Kingsroad for its outdated combat, dated graphics, and numerous design choices strongly reminiscent of mobile games. Many believe it's simply a ported mobile game, but even if not, the game's visuals and mechanics strongly evoke a 2010-era title.
While some positive reviews exist on the Steam page—often expressing generic enthusiasm for the demo and anticipation for the full release—their authenticity is questionable. It remains unclear whether these are genuine opinions or the work of bots or persistent optimists.
