Niantic is diving into summer with the Sunkissed Shores event, running from August 25th to 31st. The main highlight is the debut of Paldea's massive blue fish, Dondozo, which will appear in both raids and wild encounters with a chance to be Shiny from day one.
During the Sunkissed Shores event in Pokémon Go, you can encounter the Big Catfish Pokémon while earning double XP for winning raids. Wild spawns will feature a beach-themed refresh, with increased appearances from Psyduck, Shellder, Marill, Shuckle, Wingull, and Lechonk. All four styles of Oricorio and Alolan Exeggutor will also appear occasionally.
One-star raids will showcase Tatsugiri's regional forms—Curly in Europe, Droopy in the Americas, and Stretchy in the Asia-Pacific region—alongside visor-wearing Slakoth. Three-star raids will include Alolan Raichu, Alolan Marowak, and Dondozo. All three have a chance of being Shiny if you're lucky. Field Research tasks reward encounters with event Pokémon, while two types of Timed Research offer additional objectives. The free Timed Research provides up to 10,000 XP, 7,000 Stardust, and themed Pokémon encounters. The paid Timed Research ($1.99) includes 3,000 Stardust, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with visor Slakoth and Dondozo.
Collectors can also visit the Pokémon Go Web Store for limited-time ticket bundles. The Sunkissed Shores Ultra Ticket Box comes with an event ticket and three Max Revives, while the Berry Chic Ultra Ticket Box includes an event ticket and five Ultra Balls—both available for $1.99.
