Niantic is launching a special end-of-year Catch-a-thon event in Pokémon Go, giving players another chance to catch Community Day Pokémon and earn exclusive rewards, including Shiny versions of featured Pokémon.
This two-day event takes place on December 21st and 22nd, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. Featured Pokémon will change daily:
- December 21st: Bellsprout, Chansey, Goomy, Rowlet, Litten, and Bounsweet.
- December 22nd: Mankey, Ponyta, Galarian Ponyta, Sewaddle, Tynamo, and Popplio.
Additionally, during the final ten minutes of each hour, players can encounter Porygon, Cyndaquil, Bagon, and Beldum. The event also boasts 2x XP for catching Pokémon and 2x Stardust, along with other rewards.
Following a year of significant updates, including the introduction of Gigantamax Pokémon, Niantic is ending 2024 with one last major community event. While the timing might seem close to the holidays, dedicated Pokémon Go players will likely appreciate this final opportunity for community engagement and rare Pokémon captures.
