Marvel Rivals Season 1: Unlocking Recursive Destruction in Midtown

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals introduces new characters, maps, and modes, along with a fresh set of challenges rewarding players with free items, including a Thor skin. This guide focuses on triggering Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.

Understanding Recursive Destruction

The "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" challenge requires triggering Recursive Destruction. This involves destroying Dracula-influenced objects that then reappear in their original form. However, not all destructible objects will work; only specific ones are marked for this effect.

Identifying Target Objects

To locate these objects, utilize Chrono Vision. Activated using the "B" key (keyboard) or the right D-pad button (console), Chrono Vision highlights destructible objects in red. Only red-highlighted objects trigger Recursive Destruction.

Completing the Challenge in Midtown

This challenge is exclusive to the Quick Match (Midtown) mode. Begin the match and focus on the initial objective, defending or attacking the Fantasticar. Initially, no red-highlighted objects will be present. You must wait for the first checkpoint. Two buildings will then appear, highlighted in red, ready for destruction.

During the match's action, locate and destroy these buildings. You might not always see them reappear immediately due to the fast-paced gameplay, but multiple hits should complete the objective. If you fail to trigger Recursive Destruction three times, simply restart the match. After completing this challenge, you can move on to others, such as testing out Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
