The remake's rapid ascent to 9 million units sold is particularly impressive considering it recently passed the 8 million mark.
The March 2023 release, a reimagining of the 2005 classic, follows Leon S. Kennedy's mission to rescue the President's daughter, Ashley Graham, from a sinister cult. This iteration notably shifted the gameplay towards action, a departure from the series' survival horror origins.
