Developer Stunlock Studios celebrated this accomplishment and unveiled exciting plans for a substantial 2025 update. This update promises to significantly expand the game with a new faction, enhanced PvP features, and a wealth of additional content.
V Rising's journey to this impressive sales figure began with its 2022 early access launch, culminating in a full release in 2024. The game, praised for its immersive combat, exploration, and base-building mechanics, quickly gained popularity. Its success continued with a June 2024 PS5 release, further solidifying its presence in the gaming world. Despite some minor initial issues addressed via hotfixes, the game's overall reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
Stunlock Studios CEO Rickard Frisegard highlighted the team's dedication and the strong community built around V Rising, emphasizing that the five million sales figure represents more than just a number. A 2025 Update to Redefine V Rising
The upcoming 2025 update is poised to reshape V Rising. It will introduce a brand-new faction, incorporating ancient technologies and a refined progression system. New PvP options, including the arena PvP previewed in November's update 1.1, will allow for structured duels without the penalties of standard PvP combat (e.g., no blood type loss on death).
Further enhancing gameplay, the update will include a new crafting station, enabling players to leverage item stat bonuses for crafting high-level gear. A vast new region, situated north of Silverlight, will expand the game's map, introducing challenging new environments, enemies, and bosses.
