No Man's Sky's Solanium: Location, Farming, and Crafting Guide
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.
Locating Solanium:
Solanium's location mirrors that of Frost Crystals, but in contrast, it thrives on hot, arid planets. While in space, target a planet and utilize your scanner to identify its type and available resources. Look for designations like Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched Planet, all indicating the presence of Solanium.
Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These plants cluster together, requiring a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. If Phosphorus deposits are present, collect them as well; they're crucial for crafting Solanium if access to hot planets is limited.
Farming Solanium:
Progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission unlocks the ability to farm Solar Vines at your base. Utilize a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Expect a 16-hour growth cycle.
Crafting Solanium:
Several Refiner recipes yield Solanium, primarily utilizing Phosphorus from hot planets (though Phosphorus can be purchased from traders or Galactic Trade Terminals). Recipes include:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
