Demon's Souls and Dark Souls initiated a new subgenre within RPG/action-adventure gaming: Soulslikes. Despite its relative youth, this genre has spawned numerous ambitious titles over the past decade. 2023 alone saw the release of major Soulslike games like Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Xbox Game Pass's strength lies in its diverse game library, aiming to cater to a wide range of preferences. Soulslikes are well-represented, even without FromSoftware's seminal titles. Many excellent Soulslike alternatives to Dark Souls and Bloodborne are available on Xbox Game Pass.

Updated January 5, 2025 by Mark Sammut: The arrival of significant new Soulslike games on Game Pass in the new year remains uncertain, though Wuchang: Fallen Feathers shows promise. Meanwhile, subscribers have access to a vast selection of already available titles.
