Squad Busters 2.0 Hits Android Just Before First Anniversary!

Squad Busters is celebrating its first anniversary with a monumental update, version 2.0, set to launch on May 13th. Since its debut in 2024, the game has struggled to capture the audience that Supercell had hoped for. With this significant update, Supercell aims to turn things around and breathe new life into the game.

This Isn’t Just a Tweak or Two

Squad Busters 2.0 is more than a simple update; it's a complete overhaul, essentially rebooting the game. The core mechanics, from battle dynamics to victory conditions, are undergoing a major transformation.

One of the most significant changes is the introduction of Heroes. Players will now select a Hero to lead their squad, and if the Hero falls in battle, the game is lost. This adds a new layer of strategy and importance to each match.

Combat mechanics have also been revamped. Players no longer need to halt to engage in combat; movement and attacks are now seamlessly integrated, resulting in more dynamic, fast-paced, and intense gameplay.

Victory conditions have shifted as well. Instead of needing to eliminate all opponents, players only need to defeat the enemy Hero. While some fans are wary of this change, fearing it might make the game too similar to Brawl Stars, it promises to bring a fresh twist to the gameplay.

Squad Busters 2.0 Is Dumping a Lot of Old Features

In this major update, several existing game modes are being removed, including Doppelgangers, Double Trouble, Epic Overload, Loot Machines, and Hatchling Herder. Additionally, some skins and progression systems are being phased out. Supercell plans to compensate players with Hero Points and other in-game items.

It's clear why Supercell is pushing forward with these changes so quickly. Squad Busters has not yet reached the popularity levels of Clash of Clans or Brawl Stars.

With the big update and the first anniversary just around the corner on May 29th, Supercell is hoping to reignite interest in the game. To celebrate, they are launching a series of daily piñata events, which will offer players the chance to unlock a new Hero, Mortis.

Download Squad Busters 2.0 from the Google Play Store and experience the new changes for yourself.
