S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Roadmap for Q2 2025
Updates Every 3 Months
GSC Gameworld, the developer behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has shared their latest roadmap, committing to quarterly updates. On April 14, STALKER's official X (formerly Twitter) account announced the Q2 2025 roadmap. The developers will release detailed information every three months, accompanied by patch notes to ensure players are informed about which updates have gone live.
Following the Q1 updates that addressed major issues and introduced numerous hotfixes, GSC Gameworld is set to continue enhancing the game based on player feedback. Here's a look at the exciting updates fans can anticipate:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
- 2 New Weapons
- Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld has outlined the updates they plan to implement, focusing on two major areas: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. They intend to conduct a closed beta with mod makers to refine the ModKit before its official release. Additionally, they aim to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop, enhancing the modding community's capabilities.
The A-Life system, a cornerstone of STALKER 2's immersive experience, will see continued updates to refine NPC AI and simulation. Building on last year's substantial 110 GB Christmas patch, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance human combat with smarter use of cover, flanking, and limited grenade usage.
Mutants will also receive updates, now capable of eating corpses and reacting more realistically to threats. Other planned enhancements include the introduction of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, two new unspecified weapons, and ongoing efforts in stabilization and optimization.
As a bonus, fans can look forward to a next-gen update for the original STALKER trilogy. More details on these updates will be shared as their release approaches.
