Stardew Valley Creator Gives Update on Upcoming Switch Patch

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is actively addressing issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems.
  • The Nintendo Switch patch to fix these issues is slated for release "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have already been resolved on PC, console, and mobile platforms, but the Switch patch remains in development.

Stardew Valley’s developer, ConcernedApe, has taken to social media to update fans on the upcoming Nintendo Switch patch. This patch will address the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues that have affected gameplay. While these problems have already been fixed on PC, mobile, and other consoles, the update for the Switch is still in the works.

Since its launch in 2016, Stardew Valley has captivated players worldwide with its unique gameplay and enchanting pixel art. Its relaxing mechanics continue to attract a dedicated fanbase. ConcernedApe has been diligent in rolling out updates to enhance the game and fix bugs reported by the community. A recent update in December tackled several persistent issues, and the patch for the Switch is now on the horizon.

ConcernedApe shared on Twitter that the Stardew Valley patch addressing the divorce crash and raccoon shop is "still coming." Although no specific release date was given, the developer promised that it would be available as soon as possible. Following the release of update 1.6 in March, which introduced new content and features like personalized NPC gift reactions and the Meadowlands Farm, some issues emerged. These were quickly addressed on other platforms, but the Switch version lagged behind. ConcernedApe announced the Switch patch's development around Christmas, and now, nearly 20 days later, it's nearing completion.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Stardew Valley's update 1.6, released for PC in March, brought a host of new content, including new NPC chats, the Meadowlands Farm, and various festivals and events. Visual enhancements such as waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map changes were also added. However, subsequent patches inadvertently introduced new bugs. When update 1.6 was rolled out to console and mobile in November, players encountered significant issues, prompting an emergency patch for the mobile version on November 15. ConcernedApe continued to work on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe’s transparent communication and swift action in addressing player concerns. Although the patch for the Switch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues isn't available yet, players can be confident that it will be released soon.
