Stellar Blade Posts Record Year, PC Sales Surging

Author : Eleanor Feb 25,2025

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has announced record-breaking financial results for 2024. Stellar Blade generated an impressive $43 million in royalties, and the upcoming PC release is projected to surpass PlayStation 5 sales.

According to Game World Observer, Shift Up's 2024 financial report shows a 30.4% year-over-year revenue increase, reaching $151.4 million. A significant portion of this, $43.2 million, stems directly from Stellar Blade royalties.

The success shows no signs of abating. Shift Up anticipates stronger PC sales than the console version, particularly within the Asian gaming market. The company also intends to unveil its new title, Project Witches, in the first half of 2025. However, this new game is not the highly anticipated Stellar Blade sequel, as Project Witches was announced in 2024, before significant demand for a sequel could build. Despite this, Shift Up has confirmed that a sequel remains under consideration.

Stellar Blade, a fast-paced action RPG, puts players in the role of Eve as she fights to liberate Earth from mysterious invaders. While receiving a positive 7/10 rating from IGN and selling over a million copies, our review noted that "Stellar Blade excels in core action game mechanics, yet suffers from underdeveloped characters, a weak narrative, and several frustrating RPG elements that prevent it from reaching the genre's pinnacle."
