Nintendo has reported record-breaking sales for the Switch 2, with over 3.5 million units sold globally within the first four days – making it the company's fastest-selling hardware launch in history.
The announcement came via Nintendo's official Twitter/X account: "#NintendoSwitch2 surpasses 3.5 million units sold worldwide in just four days, setting a new benchmark as Nintendo's most successful hardware launch to date."

This milestone was achieved partly due to improved inventory management, addressing past supply challenges faced by Nintendo and competitors. It confirms Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser's promise regarding sufficient U.S. stock to meet the overwhelming demand.
By comparison, the original Switch sold 2.74 million units during its entire first month.
The announcement follows recent reports from The Game Business confirming the Switch 2 as Nintendo's fastest-selling console in UK history, dethroning the previous record holder, the Nintendo 3DS.
