If you’ve been longing for a return to Tony Hawk’s Underground, you’re not alone—Tony Hawk himself is advocating for a remake. "I always have aspirations," Hawk told ScreenRant. "It's not up to me generally. I'll campaign all I can, but I'm working with a much bigger company that's a lot smarter than me."
When asked if Activision hinted at what’s next after Pro Skate 3 + 4, Hawk remained tight-lipped. "We haven't even released this game [yet]!" he replied.
Tony Hawk’s Underground, released way back in 2003, earned an impressive 9.2 review score from us thanks to its "virtually flawless" level design and "stellar gameplay." For the first time in the series, it allowed players to leave their boards behind and explore expansive levels on foot.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on July 11, 2025. Activision is curating the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify, continuously updating it as more songs are revealed—check out the latest in our full soundtrack list.
"In a time when every early 2000s game seems to be getting a modern revamp, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is shaping up to be a welcome addition to a year full of excellent remakes and remasters," we noted in IGN’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 first impressions preview.
"From its faithful recreation of what made the PS2-era classics so memorable to its modern quality-of-life improvements, excellent soundtrack, and heartfelt homage to the series' early days, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is something every skateboard enthusiast, action sports fan, or anyone looking for simple, fun gameplay should have on their radar. It might just be the easiest kickflip you’ll land this year."
