Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant transformation in the action RPG landscape. This season introduces the innovative Cloud Oasis, where players can engage in economic gameplay by trading resources, managing workforce assignments, and overseeing production lines to establish their aerial empire.
Thea makes a compelling return in Season 8 with her new Blasphemer trait, which replaces her divine abilities with the powerful curse of Desecration. This curse begins with a modest impact but grows significantly, enhancing Erosion damage inversely proportional to her remaining blessing power. Players can optimize this trait for area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects, making it an ideal choice for fans of damage-over-time and intricate build synergies.
Endgame content receives a major overhaul with Deep Space being completely revamped. Players can now navigate through five new stages, explore larger maps, and face more challenging enemies. A novel Probes system allows players to adjust the level of risk and reward, potentially unlocking superior loot, including Compass chests, through the Compass Probe mechanism.
The update also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, thereby offering more profound build customization options. Additionally, a new formidable boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
Coinciding with the season launch, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st. Participants can complete tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
