UPDATE: Earlier today, July 28, the developer of *Wuchang: Fallen Feathers*, Leenzee, issued an updated statement via Steam. In it, the developer offered a further apology for the game’s launch issues and promised a forthcoming, "comprehensive explanation" of what went wrong.
Additionally, Leenzee stated the team is "closely monitoring all community channels" and assured players that "every voice — from critiques to suggestions — has been received, listened to carefully, and is being actively discussed as we work to find solutions."
Addressing specific problems with pre-order rewards and initial compensation plans, Leenzee announced new measures: owners of the Steam Deluxe Edition will now receive three extra deluxe costume sets and four new weapons. Owners of both the Standard and Deluxe editions will get three additional headgear items.
On the topic of performance and optimization?
"We will continue to work on performance issues and will keep adjusting the game based on your feedback — including areas like difficulty settings and boss encounters — in upcoming patches," Leenzee added. The developer listed the following ongoing "optimization efforts":
Fix crashes across different devicesImprove frame rates and reduce lag on certain graphics cardsOptimize default settings for some graphics cardsCorrect the speed of getting up after being knocked downReduce damage and the frequency of some trapsLower impact resistance of certain low-level monstersReduce exploration pressure in some areasFix issues where missing items could interrupt quest progressionImprove AI logic for monsters and bossesEnhance texture quality in low-resolution areasImprove asset detail and precision in some regions
"We deeply value every player’s support and encouragement. We are actively reviewing our development processes and striving to improve our capabilities to deliver higher-quality services more efficiently," Leenzee concluded. "We ask for your patience as we work through these optimizations step by step. We hope that in time, both our work and our team can live up to your expectations."
